Thousands protest against vax mandate in DC; Judge halts vax mandate: President don’t have the power

Over 20,000 people showed up in Washington DC to protest against the vaccine mandate. The protest was one of the largest U.S. events held against the mandates since the start of the pandemic.

The vaccine mandate for federal employees is blocked by District Judge Jeffrey Brown. The judge said “This case is not about whether folks should get vaccinated against COVID-19, the court believes they should.…It is instead about whether the President can, with the stroke of a pen and without the input of Congress, require millions of federal employees to undergo a medical procedure as a condition of their employment. That under current state law as just recently expressed by the Supreme Court is a bridge too far.”

Israel, in which nearly half of its citizens have already received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and has the highest vaccination rate in the world, is also one of the leaders in the number of new infections per capita.
