Europe has been hit by a heat wave this week with temperatures reaching 38°C in Madrid and 47°C in Seville. Temperatures in France, Germany, and Italy are all likely to exceed 40°C over the coming weekend. Along with the heat wave there is an energy crisis of a higher order. Meanwhile, China’s climate is even more unusual this year. While they are not suffering from the same energy crisis like Europe, their troubles are much bigger since their economy may be about to collapse.
