The U.S. and other G7 countries are at odds over the deadline for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan. Britain, France, Germany, and Canada have asked for an extension of the withdrawal deadline, but the White House is sticking to the previously set withdrawal date.
In addition to the discontent of the allies, the White House’s withdrawal policy has drawn criticism from both parties at home.
On the other side of the globe, the Chinese Communist Party’s policy of dealing with the Taliban has also put them in a diplomatic bind.
