The most highly anticipated event this year is the midterm elections. Republicans have vowed to secure a majority while the Democrats want to preserve their precarious margins. Republicans, Jody Hice, David Perdue, James Craig, Tudor Dixon, Greg Abbott who all have Trump‘s endorsement and Brad Raffensperger, Brian Kemp, Gretchen Whitmer, Beto O’Rourke and Liz Cheney from Democrats are the main challengers. Ron DeSantis is running for his second term.
Wisconsin is a battleground state for both parties. To avoid the possibility of losing a Republican Senate seat Senator Ron Johnson announces that he is running for re-election. He says, “I will continue to fight for freedom in the public realm by running for re-election. It is a decision I haven’t made lightly.”
The city of Chicago and the teacher’s union have failed to get children back into class. Teachers are refusing to teach in person until the peak of the pandemic has passed and surprisingly Democratic city leaders say students need to be back to school.
